The Michigan Hound Association is a Hound Group Club licensed by the American Kennel Club. Located in the Greater Detroit area with a goal of promoting education and the camaraderie of all Hound enthusiasts participating in AKC conformation events. Our club holds two specialties a year. July show in Monroe in conjunction with Ann Arbor Kennel Club. November show in East Lansing in conjunction with Motor City Specialties and Ingham Kennel Club
MHA Objectives
(A) To encourage and promote quality in breeding of purebred Hound breeds and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.
(B) To urge members and breeders to accept standards of these Hound breeds as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Hound breeds are judged.
(C) To do all in its power to protect and advance the best interest of all hound breeds, and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and other competitive activities approved of or regulated by the Club or the American Kennel Club.
(D) To provide information and education to the public in order to help those who are interested in getting involved with any hound breeds.
(E) To conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows, field trials, and hunting test under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club.
